Four $10,000 awards
SCHOLARSHIP EXAM & FACULTY FORUM
All applicants for grades 7 through 9 are encouraged to take this in-house exam. The top four scorers will be offered a $10,000 merit scholarship towards Falmouth Academy. While the exam takes place, parents will hear a comprehensive curriculum overview from our faculty.
Here is what you will experience during the event:
-
Students will take a math and English exam written by our faculty
-
While students take the exam, parents and guardians will hear Falmouth Academy's approach to education through short presentations from each faculty member
-
Admission Office will review the admission and tuition assistance application process
"Everyone has a place here – the actor, the athlete, the artist, the scientist. The teachers are amazing. They have the freedom to teach their passion. They’re approachable, supportive. Their standards are high. And as our daughters say, ‘our homework means something.’”

Do I need to register to attend the event?
Registration is encouraged as it allows us to plan the event logistically. Drop-ins are welcome.

Please arrive between 9:15 AM and 9:30 AM to ensure we can start the exam and the presentations on time.

-
Where should I park and what do I do once I arrive?
Please park in the gravel visitor lots in the front of school. Check-in will be in the lobby at the front of the school. The front door is located under the central tower.
-
Do I need to stay while my student takes the exam?
You may drop off your student for the exam, but we encourage you to stay for the faculty presentations. Each faculty member will speak for 2 minutes about what makes Falmouth Academy unique.
-
Will there be a formal presentation?
As students are taking the exam, parents will hear brief presentations from faculty. It's a great opportunity to meet and hear from the teachers that inspire our students every day.
-
What can my student do to prepare for the Scholarship Exam?
Students do not need to prepare in any way. There will be a section of math and a section of English. There will also be open-ended questions to allow students to showcase their creativity and critical thinking. We will provide them with pencils and snacks.
-
When will I find out the results of the exam?
The Admission Office will contact you within two weeks following the events with the results.
-
My student cannot take the exam that day. Can we reschedule for another day?
Unfortunately, we only offer the test on one day.
-
Is the $10,000 award for one year?
If your student places in the top four test takers and is accepted and enrolls at FA, the $10,000 merit award will be applied towards their tuition every year they are enrolled and remain in good academic standing.
-
Do you offer other merit-based awards?
Our scholarship exam is currently our only merit-based award. Tuition assistance is available for qualifying families. Tuition assistance is determined by Falmouth Academy's Tuition Assistance Committee with information from a third party, School and Student Services (SSS). Information on how to apply can be found on our Tuition and Affordability page.
